Where Bauhütte Design furniture is developed and built

My workshop is located in Zurich-Altstetten, close to the trainstation Zurich-Altstetten, directly on the tramline 17 (old Number 4) and the first Zürich exit on the highway to Bern or Basel.

The 90 squaremeter workshop in an industrial building directly on the Highway with its 3 meter high cealing and 2 big windows (1.5 x 6.5m) offers a great environnement to build custom furniture.

Custom Design and Woodworking stands at the center of my work, using mostly domestic timber.

The swiss Landscape offers many different timber species with a variety of textures,

colours and character. Depending on the species, I select them at different local sawmills.

Sometimes, the combination of different materials can give a piece of furniture

a special note. So I incorporate other materials such as Fabric, Felt, Leather, Glass,

Aluminum,Cromesteel and Brass into my designs as well.

I use modern woodworking machines in the workshop. Assembly and finishing are

done in the traditional way by hand. Only environmentally friendly products are

used for construction and finishing.
